Torch Music Group was founded by Joi Coleman — a Philadelphia native, Atlanta-based Grammy-nominated songwriter and former Atlantic Records A&R.

Joi spent nine years at Atlantic Records across A&R and studio operations, A&R’ing all three of Big Scarr’s studio albums and developing artists across the label’s roster. During her early years at the label, she also built her own platform in radio — hosting The Jawn Joi on Dash Radio and producing Streetz Is Watchin’ on Shade 45. Her songwriting work earned a Grammy nomination on Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III.

Nine years inside the system taught her one thing about who wins and who loses in this business: work ethic is the variable. Everything else is noise. TMG is built on what she learned, and signs artists who are already the engine of their own careers — giving them a real infrastructure behind them.
